I am a quiet and simple person who grew up in a farming community. I like seeing the big tractors and combines working the fields. I am a native texan and love the outdoors. Growing up I enjoyed fishing and hunting and learning about gardening. My grandparents and an uncle who was a local farmer gave me a love for the land. I enjoy planting seeds and watching them grow. I have a small lean-to greenhouse and garden. I grow vegetables, flowers, succulents and lots of wildflowers. I hybridize some of my plants.
For fun, I like to walk down creek beds hunting rocks, fossils, old bottles or other antiques. I like hiking, exploring, camping, fishing, bike riding, cookouts, photography, shooting guns, watching thunderstorms, stars, sunsets and sunrises.
I like to cook, read, do handyman tasks around the house, and watch programs on the internet. As a Christian, I like to watch the older movies and comedies because of their better morals, values and language usage. I like historical documentaries and crime shows. I'm not a big sports fan but I can watch if I am with the right person.
I'm not a dancer or drinker so I try to stay away from bars and clubs. I prefer the quieter settings. Restaurants with bars are ok though.
My relationship with Jesus Christ is very important to me so I enjoy weekly Bible studies and church on Sunday. I am knowledgable about the Bible and wide range of related and unrelated subjects because I continue to read and study. I love family and friends and try to be nice to everyone I come in contact with. I am a bit reserved but I make friends wherever I go.
I like a wide range of music. Growing up, I was exposed to the old time country & western, hillbilly, western swing, fiddle and bluegrass music and it became ingrained in me; it is still my favorite. I also like the music of big band era and many other genres.
I own my home and am debt-free.

Being in the country away from the city, walking along the lake shore, walking or biking trails, fishing, target shooting, museums, walking through the woods, exploring areas I haven't been to, observing sunsets or sunrises, the moon and stars, outdoor cookouts, camping in KOA's, national parks, national monuments, state parks, just seeing all of God's creation. I like being with family and friends.
